Announcing Kathleen Bloxsome as new Executive Director

Purchased, an organization focused on human trafficking prevention and survivor support, is proud to welcome Kathleen Bloxsome as Executive Director. Bloxsome brings more than 20 years of leadership, development and strategic planning experience to the organization.

Purchased is an 501c3 focused on educating, empowering and preventing human trafficking in Indiana. Founded in 2008 by Jessica Evans, Purchased has expanded its offering to serve Central Indiana with innovative, one of a kind programs focused on survivor support, family counseling, mentorship and skill training to assist survivors with transition to a healthier home life. Two of Purchased programs are the only programs of their kind in Indiana.

“Purchased is at an exciting and pivotal time,” says Jessica Evans, Founder. “We have set big goals for our survivor support programming – expanding our reach throughout the state as well as serving more girls within Central Indiana. Our first eleven years have set the frame work for growth with many inspiring success stories. We’re excited to continue our growth and impact with Kathleen’s leadership.”

Kathleen’s deep experience in consulting, nonprofit operations and development will be core to her role with Purchased. Kathleen most recently served as the Chief People Officer for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic where she developed and recruited large volunteer staffs, expanded programming and events as well as managed growth of teams and initiatives. Prior to her time with the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, Kathleen managed a small consulting firm as well played a pivotal role at Grace Church where she acted as the Partner Engagement Director for 12 years.

“I’m excited to continue my advocacy work and helping the girls we serve at Purchased,” states Kathleen. “I’m passionate about our mission to educate our communities, empower and equip the girls we serve and ultimately put an end to modern day slavery.”

Jessica Evans will remain part of the leadership team at Purchased with a focus on program development and expanding support services for survivors. Kathleen’s role will focus on community engagement, partnerships and strategic growth initiatives for the organization.

Purchased offers innovative services and focuses on providing support and resources for survivors of human trafficking and their families. My Life My Choice is a national curriculum focused on education for young girls and communities to prevent sexual exploitation. ALLIES and Thrive are two programs that are the ONLY programs of their kind in Indiana. ALLIES is a mentorship program that focuses on building positive relationships with supportive mentors. Thrive focuses on providing tools, resources and support for families and caregivers in order to create a better transition to home life for the survivor.
